In the book “One Thousand Gifts,” Ann Voskamp tells the story of how she learned to be thankful. She decided to keep a journal of all the things she was thankful for – all the gifts God gave her – and to keep writing until she had listed 1,000 gifts.
Will you take up the 1,000 Gifts Challenge? Get a journal or staple some papers together and start making a list of all the gifts God gives you – all the things you are thankful for.
At first you’ll probably write obvious things like Mom, Dad, home, food, etc. But then you can get more creative and specific, like “The sun sparkling on raindrops on my window” or “Play-wrestling with my dad,” or whatever brings you joy and happiness that is a good gift from God.
Keep adding to your 1,000 Gifts Journal every day until you’ve reached 1,000. When you do, let us know at email@example.com!
Make Your Own Rock Candy
